School Management Committee
The School Sponsoring Body (SSB) is legally responsible for Shrewsbury International School Hong Kong and the appointment of a School Management Committee (SMC). The SMC is responsible for ensuring that the School operates in full compliance with the Education Ordinance – it acts to both appoint and manage the school Principal, who then takes charge of school operation.
The SMC also draws upon the expertise of an advisory Board of Governors comprising of local and international members, including two from Shrewsbury School. Operating in accordance with an agreed set of rules, it meets on a termly basis and provides advice according to an agreed framework.
The School Supervisor
Stephen Wong is the School Supervisor and Chair of the School Management Committee.
Able to draw upon a broad range of skills developed over two decades working in digital communication and risk management, Stephen believes in a holistic approach to leadership and collaborates both keenly and regularly with fellow SMC members, external advisory teams, staff, parents, students and regulators.

The Board of Governors
The Board of Governors aims to provide advice and insight to the School Supervisor and the Principal. It acts to review, scrutinise and provide critical commentary upon reports and documents presented within termly meetings. Bernard Chan is Chair of the Board of Governors.
Bernard holds a deep and long-standing interest in education and understands that the provision of a high-quality schooling represents the very best investment a parent may choose to make on behalf of their child. Closely involved in the founding of our school here in Hong Kong, Bernard has previously served as the Council Chairman of Lingnan University and remain a Trustee Emeritus of Pomona College.

A Chartered Accountant and founding Governor of Shrewsbury International School Bangkok, David serves as an independent director of Asia Plus Group Holdings PCL, having previously acted as a Council Member of the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong and a member of the Stock Exchange Listing Committee.

Karen worked as an Executive Director and General Manager at Asia Commercial Bank Ltd for over 30 years before taking up the role of Chief Operating Officer of Asia Financial Holdings Ltd. She also sits on the Board of Bank Consortium Trust Company Limited.

Vic is the founder and managing partner of VI Ventures and chairman of VI Asset Management. One of the founders and a former Senior Executive Vice President at Tencent. Vic was recognized as China Top CIO by the CEO and CIO magazine in 2008.
